Alberto Gómez-Gómez is primarily known as a figurative artist, excelling in painting and printmaking. His large-format murals in the United States and Colombia have received national and international recognition.
Brief biography
Alberto Gómez-Gómez was born in Bogotá, Colombia, on December 12, 1956, the second of seven children. His mother was Alicia Gómez, and his father was Luis Horacio Gómez-Gómez. Alberto became a U.S. citizen on July 29, 2011, through the Individuals with Extraordinary Ability or Achievement Visa.

Gómez-Gómez studied Fine Arts at the 'Escuela de Bellas Artes' of the Distrital University Francisco José de Caldas. Simultaneously he was under the mentorship of the renowned Artist Jaime Castillo. Following his time in Bogotá, he continued his education on Fine Arts at the Colegio Universitario de Caracas in Venezuela, where he expanded his academic focus to include Liberal Arts. Immersed in the intellectual currents of the era, he delved deeply into the realms of aesthetics, politics, and the human condition. During this transformative period, he regularly participated in seminars led by prominent Latin American and international speakers and refined his artistic skills in the studio of Master Painter Manuél Reyes Navarro.​​​

Alberto Gómez-Gómez is a Colombian master painter and printmaker who has lived in the United States for 28 years. He is widely recognized for his community service, having painted 32 murals across multiple states, primarily in Florida. He has conducted workshops for immigrants, art students, and artists, and has restored books for libraries and collaborated with nonprofit organizations.
